Translation text:	Aravatius, is said to have been bishop of Maastricht (Triiectensis episcopus) at the time of the Huns' invasion of Gaul [i.e. 451]. He was buried next to a bridge, but falling snow never moistened the marble on his tomb; even when it was deep, it did not touch the tomb. [...] Many times the devotion and zeal of believers constructed an oratory from wooden planks that had been planed smooth; but immediately the planks either were snatched by the wind or collapsed of their own accord. And I believe that this continued to happen until someone came along who constructed a worthy building in honour of the glorious bishop. After some time passed Monulf became bishop of Maastricht. He built, arranged, and decorated a large church in honour of Aravatius. His body was translated into this church with great zeal and veneration, and it is now distinguished with great miracles.
